New Orleans Pelicans have been searching for a replacement for the injured starting small forward Solomon Hill who is rehabbing with a torn hamstring. There are rumors circulating around the team that ties them to Cleveland’s Iman Shumpert & Minnesota’s Shabazz Muhammad.
The Pells tried out forwards Josh Smith, Martel Webster & Chase Budinger without offering them a deal.
The Shabazz Muhammad rumors was revealed by some reports that indicate that the Pelicans are looking to add a starting player & clearly Muhammad is the best available small forward left in free agency.Muhammad is mulling over interest from the Lakers, Bucks, T-Wolves & Pelicans.
The former pelican Dante Cunningham who has the t-wolves, bucks interested is trying to get his $3 mil plus he opted out of with New Orleans to bet on himself in free agency.
The Pelicans Administration is searching high & low in addressing the hole at small forward with Hill missing the regular season. The team traded reserve forward Quincy Pondexter to the Bulls last week to free up money to address the position.
The Pells weren’t confident in Q-Pond after waiting 2 seasons for him to get healthy, the other forward is Darius Miller who the team obvious views as a back-up. So whats the answer?
There was a rumored trade that would move Cleveland Cav’s (F) Iman Shumpert & (F) Channing Frye To New Orleans for (G) Etwaun Moore & (C) Omer Asik.
This is an excellent trade for both teams because it provides the Pells with a quality defensive minded playoffs experienced forward in Shumpert & a reserve stretch four in Frye. The Cavs get a key 3 point shooting guard & a true experienced center who can spell Tristan Thompson to occasionally move to his natural power forward position.
We should know very soon the actual course of the team because we believe a move will be made prior to the start of the regular season.
