There was a time when Fedor Emelianenko was believed to be the best pound-for-pound MMA fighter in the world, but we now know why he dodged fighting in the UFC as vehemently as he did.
Fedor negotiated with the UFC for years, but never fought at that level, and it’s been made clear why: He’s vastly overrated, and he’s been exposed a number of times.
That was obvious at Bellator 214 on Saturday night, when Ryan Bader destroyed him in the first round of their match. Bader landed a number of punches, then knocked Emelianenko out with this vicious left hook.

And even though Fedor is now 42 years of age, it was a solid win for Bader.
Good for Bader, man. Exited the UFC on a 7-1 run, never got a title shot. Now he's a two-weight champion for Bellator and just clobbered the great Fedor Emelianenko in absolutely stunning fashion.

That may be how Emelianenko’s MMA career ends.
