You live by the sword, you die by the sword. Tonight, Las Vegas Golden Knights forward Ryan Reaves caught Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson with this vicious, blindside hit. The puck was nowhere near Wilson when he was hit by Reaves.
Reaves was assessed a five-minute major for interference and given a game misconduct. Wilson was hurt on the play.

I know some will demand that the Department of Player Safety suspend Reaves for this hit. I guess we will just have to see what happens. While the hit was ruled a penalty, it was a shoulder-to-shoulder hit.
Finally, the two have a history. When you play on the edge and go after opposition players like Wilson does, eventually, they’re going to get you back. Is this poetic justice?

It sounds like the NHL’s Department of Player Safety will take a look at Reaves hit on Wilson.

The fact it wasn't a hit to the head works in Reaves' favor.
DoPS rarely suspends a player for late hits without head contact–but it has happened. #Capitals
