Just like de Randamie, rematches could play a factor in Holm’s new contract. Anderson’s (9-3) fight against Holm left the crowd wanting more. A satisfactory ending to their story would have been a perfect meal. On a four-fight win streak before the Holm loss, Anderson has something to prove.
While not a fight that can happen right away, it could always come into play if Holm wins a bout against Nunes. In a thin women’s division, Anderson is a favorite to become a contender at any point. However, she may be busy with a Cat Zingano rematch down the line. Anything is possible, and another win could propel her straight to the moon.
By getting back to her winning ways, Anderson already qualifies as a worthy challenger. It is up to the UFC to book a rematch between two strikers.
