We are only days removed from players reporting to Training Camp, and only weeks away from the Eagles’ first preseason game.
It’s a steamy part of summer in Philly in more ways than one.
First I’d like to give props to Malcolm Jenkins in the community involvement department.
The Eagles safety has paired his foundation with Drexel University to launch an innovative day camp catering to a unique education for middle school students. Called “Summer S.T.E.A.M.”, which was held from July 11-15, it was a day camp aimed to inspire young teenagers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts, athletics and math. Jenkins himself took part in one of the athletic modules on the final day, exploring the link between athletics, video games and virtual reality.
“Kids want to learn and be exposed to unique experiences and Summer S.T.E.A.M. allows them to re-imagine education by reshaping how and where learning occurs,” Jenkins said. “By offering this program, we want to spark, nurture and inspire a lifelong interest in the STEM disciplines [science, technology, engineering and math] and show them how education can lead the way to new opportunities and success in life.”
The pilot program was deemed to be a success, as The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation plans to partner with Drexel University to offer Summer S.T.E.A.M. again next summer.
Then there is the steam coming off the just released preseason TV schedule—
CSN Philadelphia, NBC10 and COZI TV will be the broadcast outlets for this year’s preseason schedule.
According to a press release, CSN and COZI TV will air the first two games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Pittsburgh Steelers respectively, while NBC10 will be the exclusive broadcast network for the two games against the Indianapolis Colts and the New York Jets.

COZI TV, the station’s multicast network, offers a full schedule of America’s most beloved and iconic television series and hit movies as well as local programming. COZI TV can be seen on Comcast channel 248, Verizon channel 460 and over-the-air on digital 10.2.
