Tim Duncan’s jersey retirement ceremony on Sunday featured some powerful speeches and touching moments.
It wasn’t a surprise that Duncan captured the attention of everyone in attendance by delivering a compelling, moving statement, but head coach Gregg Popovich actually showed a lot of emotion, and that was new. It really speaks to how much respect the two have for one another, and how strong the bond between them is.
Duncan started off by lightening the mood with a bit of humor.

What a class act Duncan is. Not only was he one of the top five centers to ever play the game, but he also conducted himself in a professional manner every second he stepped foot on the floor.
