The Denver Broncos lost starting quarterback Trevor Siemian to an injury Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Siemian had been cruising to what looked like an easy win and impressive stat line when the injury occurred. The shoulder or collarbone issue on his non-throwing arm was concerning enough for the Broncos to bring out a cart.

It’s a wildly disappointing turn of events for the Broncos. Siemian bested Mark Sanchez and others as the successor under center after Peyton Manning’s retirement and through three games had led the Broncos to a trio of wins while tossing five touchdowns to three interceptions. He helped the Broncos to a 14-7 lead by way of 68 yards and a score before the injury.
If serious, the Broncos will now have to turn to rookie Paxton Lynch before he’s ready. The rest of Sunday’s game will act as a trial by fire of sorts for the Memphis product, though he entered the game with a cushion of a lead.
