The Redskins suffered a brutal blow to their playoff hopes when quarterback Colt McCoy left Monday’s game against the Eagles with a season-ending leg injury.
It was announced that McCoy suffered a fractured right fibula — ending his season. This comes in the wake of Alex Smith’s injury, which entailed the quarterback breaking two bones in his leg, and having ankle damage as well. For McCoy, it’s a broken fibula, but that’ll spell the end of his season.

Smith’s injury was just bad luck, as he was sacked and landed awkwardly. As for McCoy, though it appeared to be a different story. McCoy was scrambling to avoid pressure, and he slid, with Malcolm Jenkins touching him down. However, notice how Michael Bennett came in late and landed right on top of McCoy’s leg.

It could have been accidental, but given Bennett’s history, that certainly could’ve been a cheap shot to knock the Redskins quarterback out of the game. Unfortunately, it put an end to his (and possibly the team’s) season.
