HBO’s “Hard Knocks” takes sports fans behind the scenes and shows them what really takes place behind closed doors during training camp.
Viewers are given access that is very rare nowadays — seeing the decisions management and the coaching staff make inside their team facility. That’s the main reason many teams aren’t interested in participating in the documentary series, as they don’t want to volunteer information to other organizations they’re competing against.
The Bucs were chosen to be this year’s “Hard Knocks” candidate, and the second episode of the season aired on Tuesday night. That’s when the tough-to-watch moments began.
Viewers watched Roberto Aguayo miss a field goal and an extra pick in the team’s preseason opener against the Bengals, and then later get called into an office with general manager Jason Licht and head coach Dirk Koetter. Aguayo was informed of his release, and as he fought back tears, he admitted “I let you guys down.”

Aguayo was claimed off waivers by the Bears, so hopefully a fresh start will help him get his confidence back.
