Celtics guard Kyrie Irving daggered the Wizards by hitting a game-winner from way downtown in overtime of Wednesday’s game, and he also made a young fan’s day with an early Christmas present after the matchup at Capital One Arena was in the books.
Irving and Wall traded buckets in the final minute of overtime, but it was the Celtics guard who got the last laugh — casually pulling up and draining a three-pointer in his counterpart’s face over 30 feet from the basket (watch here). The Wizards never scored after that, with Irving’s jumper proving to be the game-winner in the 130-125 victory.
The Celtics point guard finished the game with a game-high 38 points on 12-of-28 shooting, but he saved his best moment for after the contest. On his way to the locker room, Irving removed his sneakers and handed them to a young fan, who was clearly thrilled afterward.
