The Steelers’ playoff hopes took a huge hit in an improbable fashion, with the team suffering a brutal 24-21 loss to the Raiders — in a game they were listed as 10-point favorites in.
Oakland had won only two games all season, and the door was wide open for Pittsburgh — given that Baltimore lost earlier in the day.
Yet somehow, the Steelers couldn’t get out of their own way, and the result was their third consecutive loss — all of which have come in brutal fashion.
This particular one came when Chris Boswell missed a 43-yard field goal to potentially tie the game, as he slipped, and the ball actually hit a Steelers lineman.

Head coach Mike Tomlin had a fitting reaction to the shocking miss.

It was Boswell’s second miss of the game, and it proved costly. All of a sudden, the Steelers are in danger of missing the playoffs, with games against the Patriots and Saints on deck.
