With the announcement of the NFL Combine invites breaking through twitter, three Nevada Wolfpack members have so far been invited to the NFL Combine. On the defense, linebackers James Michael-Johnson and Brandon Marshall have accepted their invitations, and on offense, Rishard Matthews at receiver has also accepted his invite.
James Michael-Johnson (our #2 ILB) and Rishard Matthews (our #8 WR) are both two WAC studs and could be Top 4 round picks. Both have the phyiscal make-up to be starters in the NFL for sure. Michael-Johnson is a potential 3-4 inside linebacker with somewhat limited range, while Matthews has the physical ability after the catch to make plays with the ball, and catches away from his hands well.
Marshall isn’t the top of top tier prospects MJ and Matthews are, but he’s a fairly impressive athlete himself. Marshall finished his senior season with 102 tackles and 7.5 tackles for a loss. He’s considered a mid to late round prospects as of now.
