Dolphins upgrade with Knowshon Moreno signing

Earlier today, the Miami Dolphins signed, sealed, and delivered a much awaited and necessary upgrade in Knowshon Moreno at running back.

The move was hinted at by various news outlets, but Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports brought the mutual interest to light over a week ago.

For the Dolphins, the move means direct competition with current running back Lamar Miller, but it seems that for Daniel Thomas, his days in Miami could soon be over.

The terms of the contract are $3 million for one year, but a successful season could earn Moreno an extension or larger deal in the future should he hit the market in 2015.

Personally, I like this move because the Dolphins got better prior to the draft and upgraded a position where touchdowns on the ground were sorely lacking.  Moreno’s 13 touchdowns could work wonders for the Dolphins offense, but mainly Moreno is quite underrated as a pass blocker…something that’s been missing on the execution of the Dolphins offense.

Heading into the draft, Dolphins fans have to be optimistic with the prospects of an upgraded offensive line and now one more offensive weapon and veteran leader in Knowshon Moreno that can be a positive after being just average last season at 8-8.
