The Miami Dolphins had two players named to the 2015 Pro Bowl, defensive end Cameron Wake and cornerback Brent Grimes. The game will be played on January 25 at 8pm ET in Glendale, Arizona. It will be the second consecutive year in which the two teams are drafted by alumni captains instead of using the traditional AFC vs NFC format. Cris Carter and Michael Irvin will select their players on January 21.
For Wake, this is his fourth Pro Bowl selection in his six seasons in the NFL. He led the Dolphins in sacks with 11.5, the third time he has hit the double digit sack total. Wake faded down the stretch as most of his sacks came early in the season, before recording two against the Vikings.
Grimes is being selected to his third Pro Bowl and his second in as many years since joining the Dolphins. He led the team with five interceptions, including one pick-six and will surely be on the highlight reel for years to come due to his one handed interception against Calvin Johnson in Detroit. Grimes was forced to carry the load of a depleted Dolphins secondary, which may have been contributed to his struggles in covering high caliber receivers, especially later in the season.
A case could be made for wide receiver Mike Wallace to have made the Pro Bowl with his 10 touchdown receptions and 862 receiving yards, however it is tough to argue with the players chosen instead of him at the position.
Perhaps the Dolphins most deserving player, safety Reshad Jones, was ineligible to due a four game suspension for PED use at the start of the season.
