Miami Dolphins schedule preview

A new general manager couldn’t shake off the Miami Dolphins’ recent run of mediocrity. An 8-8 finish and finishing third in the AFC East has fans wondering if quarterback Ryan Tannehill is “the guy” to take the team to the next level. Tannehill had a good year for his standards, throwing for over 4,000 yards, with 27 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, completing over 65% of his passes.
But the wins are coming too few and far between and the team cannot reach a level of consistency that is needed to reach the postseason. The Dolphins have a few good pieces to work off of, including offensive guard Mike Pouncey, cornerback Brent Grimes who enjoyed a breakout season and defensive end Cameron Wake. This season will be the fourth under head coach Joe Philbin, and it may be playoffs or bust for the quarterback and head coach duo.
Mike Wallace caught 10 touchdown passes in 2014, and seems to be developing nicely with Tannehill since leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Dolphins’ 2015 slate of opponents, broken into home and away games, is:

Home:

Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens

Away:

Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, New York Jets (London), Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, San Diego Chargers

The Dolphins will participate in the NFL’s International Series as they “host” the New York Jets in London on October 4th.

For those looking to cheer on the Dolphins on the road or at home at Sun Life Stadium, Hipmunk.com can help you arrange your airplane and hotel room reservations. They list hotels near Sun Life Stadium from $47 and can help out of town visitors with flights to Miami.

If the offensive line can remain healthy and the defense can avoid struggling in the second half of season, the Dolphins have every opportunity to take advantage of the coaching changes in Buffalo and New York and grab one of those AFC Wildcard spots.
