Dolphins in desperate need of star power

The last time the Miami Dolphins fielded a super star player on their team was when Jason Taylor was in his prime. One of the main reasons the Dolphins have become an afterthought on the national scene, besides their consistently mediocre records,  is the fact they don’t have anyone who is very marketble. What do all of the great teams have? A super star. Thats what Miami currently lacks

That could all change Tuesday if the Dolphins are able to land Ndamukong Suh. Suh is arguably the best defensive tackle in the NFL and quite possibly the best since Warren Sap. In Suh, the Dolphins would have a player who would instantly become the face of the franchise on a national scope. I know that may upset some Ryan Tannehill fans. But the reality is from a skill standpoint, it’s not even close. Suh would make this team relevant again.

Besides the marketing benefits, it would also dramatically change the product on the field. Words can’t describe the a difference a future hall of famer that is in his prime can have on a team. Visions of Wake coming from the edge and Suh coming up the middle are dream come true. Imagine how much easier the jobs of the line backers and defensive backs would get.

Finally, it would change the perception that the Dolphins can never get their guy. Forget the fact, that the last two years they went after and landed the biggest free agent available. It would mean that Ross and company did something right. Of course, if this is just a pipe dream, then Ross will continue to be vilified and the Dolphins will continue to lack star power.
