We’ve all been waiting for several months now. The speculation is over and the Dolphins took the field early this morning in front of several loyal fans in attendance.
Some of the great highlights that surrounded drills this morning included the rise of Michael Preston at wide receiver making acrobatic catches. Coupled with some nice passes from Tannehill to Preston deep for a touchdown.
Of course second year wideout Jarvis Landry proved exactly why he has the inside slot receiver spot nailed down.
Defensively both Bobby McCain and Will Davis had a strong showing. McCain earned a nice attaboy after picking off Quarterback Josh Freeman.
Let’s not forget, Ndamukong Suh didn’t disappoint after he jumped the snap count a couple of times.
The biggest disappointment today was kicker Caleb Sturgis who missed two 44 yard field goals. If the Dolphins are going to excel in winning in all phases of the game, Sturgis needs to be more accurate in the mid 40 yard range.
All in all, today was a decent day for the Dolphins. They got a big boost after a rah rah type of speech by owner Steve Ross who proclaimed “8-8 isn’t good enough.”
For Dolphins fans, day one is over, and the camp battles will commence once the pads are one.
