Free Agency and draft season is near

It is officially free agency and draft season. The three biggest areas on the Dolphins roster that will need to be addressed in the upcoming offseason fall all over the place. While the skill position players are at least solid for Miami, they need serious help on the interior of their offensive line—guards in particular.

On defense, the secondary must be addressed, as should an apparent hole at inside linebacker. How they go about fixing all of these issues, though, remains to be seen.

Of the three major needs that the Dolphins have heading into the offseason (guard, secondary, inside linebacker), there are high quality options on the free agency market that the Dolphins could go after.

I think the Miami Dolphins should get Lamar Miller and Olivier Vernon signed back with the team. They cant let in home talent get away again. I also think Cameron Wake will get a deal done.

Players that will get cut in my opinion are Greg Jennings, Earl Mitchell, Jamar Taylor, Dallas Thomas, Matt Moore and Koa Misi. Jordan Cameron will get his contract restructured.  He has the talent but the offensive production last year was too inconsistent. He should back on small contract.

Players that they should go after in free agency are LB Brandon Marshall, T/OG Kelechi Osmele, OG Alex Boone, CB Sean Smith, CB Trumaine Johnson and S Eric Weddle or Tyshon Gipson.

As far as the Draft, if they get some of the needs in free agency, I think they will get the remaining ones in the draft. I could see them drafting a linebacker or cornerback with their 1st round pick that is 8th overall.

A few names that come to mind are Vernon Hargraves III, Myles Jack, Jalen Ramsey, Shaq Lawson, DeForset Buckner and MacKenzie Alexander.

There was news today that the Miami Dolphins just put the transition tag on Olivier Vernon! The tag is worth 12.7 million. The transition tag means that Vernon can still go into free agency and look for offers. Once a team signs him to a contract, the Dolphins have the right to match the offer.

To be honest guys, I think they should let Vernon walk because it was a waste to put the tag on him anyways knowing that he will leave the Dolphins anyways but maybe they know something that we dont.

In 2015, Vernon finished the year with seven and a half sacks; also a lot of QB hits as well and got most of the attention once Cameron Wake was lost for the season with a Achilles injury. For his career, Vernon has had 29 sacks as a Dolphin.
