Should we Stay or should we go?

Thats is the 21 million dollar question.

 Win a trip to a BCS bowl and leave for the Big East for 2012 and that is just what it will cost Boise State, and even then you will not know for sure that you have moved to a future BCS confrence? Wait until 2013 to leave and certainly the dollar cost of leaving shrinks to 6.1 million, but how horrible would it be if after all that come realignment the MWC becomes a BCS conference after all?

I’m not so worried that the Big East would loss AQ status if we go I’m more concerned with what if the C-USA and MWC package actually becomes AQ status? We would have given up 21 million for nothing right? Well not actually and here is way the best Boise can hope for in the MWC in total income is about 17 million add on revenue from the stadium and you are pushing 21-22 million just about the same amount Boise took in from the WAC last year before they moved  to the MWC, while the money didn’t get much better for Boise if at all the prospects of moving into a conference that was going to earn AQ Status was much better, the difference with the Big East move is not only is it a conference that already has AQ status it’s TV deals would almost double what Boise is earning now, and it’s certainly looking like with the moves and deals the Big East is making increase above that. But there is an even more pressing reason for Boise State to make the move now and take the hit, then wait. In the MWC Boise cannot afford a loss let alone even a close game and get into a BCS bowl, and one thing all of us in Bronco Nation know is next year  the front four of the D-line are gone, Kellen is gone Doug Martin is gone, Key pieces to the O-line are gone.  So the chance of losing games next year greatly increases and with that there is no chance of a BCS bowl in 2012 while still in the MWC. The Big East on the other hand being an AQ conference would allow Boise something it’s never had the chance to grow a team during the season and work it’s way into a BCS bowl, and that my friends is the reason why Boise will be going to the Big East for the 2012 season.

If you ever truly wondered why the AQ boys hate us it’s the very reason that we hold them to the same standards they hold us, lose you are out you must win them all to being the MNCG, it’s the pressure we and TCU have applied to the AQ teams by being right at their heel’s , as there is no doubt that if in the 2009 season there wasn’t two undefeated AQ team TCU would have been the first to bust in to the MNCG, and that’s a pressure the AQ’s just cannot bare any longer just watch how nuts the espn clowns go at the very thought of Boise being in the MNCG.

All that being said and the obvious being right before us you cannot help but think the experience of moving into the MWC is not helping Mr. Kustra as he holds his cards very close to the vest, taking from what he learned of his mistakes in moving to the MWC Mr. Kustra I am sure is negotiating the absolute best entry position for Boise State.

So I say Bronco Nation accept the change and ready yourself for another conference move unless of course the Big 12 rushes in my money is we will be playing in the Big East this time next year.
