UCLA targets Boise State’s Chris Petersen to be next football coach
Guerrero, who on Monday announced the firing of Rick Neuheisel, is expected to make a trip to Boise to meet with Petersen. UCLA is believed to be able to offer a contract worth more than $3 million annually that includes donations from boosters.
Plans to refurbish the Bruins’ practice facility and a commitment of about $2 million for assistant coaches are expected to be part of the package, accord to one person close to the situation.
First let me say UCLA get in line…
Again this is a report by a blogger and there is no official word from UCLA’s AD about a trip to Boise.
Is UCLA wishfully thinking, and after last year for the first time Coach Pete did take a call and talk to Sanford officials, though in the end he turned down the 3 million offer to stay at Boise State. If coach who can before given the one opportunity to listen to a major University with an improving program just to show his respect and peak across to the other pasture does again talk this time to UCLA, then I think we would have multiple problems here in Boise.
And here’s why #1 is because the way he recruits, basically telling kids once you verbal you are done with your visit’s, just how does that sit with sit with the young men he is recruiting if every year he talks to other teams about jumping ship, to Stanford to help force the schools hand a little on improvements is one thing now that he’s gotten what he wants this show should be over. # 2. It’s unfair to the fan base every year to put them through this he’s either gotten what he wants and is ready to build a legacy or he isn’t and if there is nothing more that Boise State can do for him to keep him then it’s time for him to go, this cannot go on year after year.
UCLA is a mess, their program hasn’t been anything to talk about since 98, and before then you have to go back to the early 80’s. There have been no noticeable improvements to facilities and they already have their eternal legion in John Allen. In Coach Pete we’ve had a guy talk about Boise men, someone who has pulled back offers to athletes who after verbaling went on to trips to other colleges to just check them out. A onetime lookies at a school is one thing a second in two years is another.
I’ll be watching very closely at how Coach Pete responds to these efforts by UCLA.
ESPN Insider: Chris Petersen is Arizona’s top prospect
Greg Byrne announced that the job was open, and one name seems to be coming up the most as being atop the school’s wish list.
Chris Petersen.
Currently the head coach at Boise State, Petersen would seem to be a fantastic hire for the school
Kansas search for new coach begins
Peterson would be a definite fan favorite should the Jayhawks lure him away from the blue turf at Boise State. He’s 70-6 in six seasons at Boise State and has led the Broncos to two BCS bowl appearances but may not be intrigued by the tough chore of having to rebuild the KU program. Read More Here
Boise State seniors prepare for last game on the Blue
The last week of the regular season gets Bronco Nation and Boise State seniors a little nostalgic. Knowing Saturday’s the last time we’ll see this Bronco team play on the Blue, well, it’s a little more than a little.
Add to that these red-shirt seniors just happen to be Coach Pete’s first recruiting class and there’s a lot more going into this weekend’s battle with New Mexico than just beating the Lobos.
I’m man enough to admit I will cry real tears during and after this game… I may cry for weeks…

Someone needs to explain that video to me????
Boise State’s Doug Martin eclipses 1,000 yards for the season
Like one of his trademark runs, Doug Martin is finishing the season strong. The senior running back rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries against Wyoming, pushing him past the 1,000-yard mark for the second consecutive season.
“The O-line did an awesome job today,” said Martin, who has 1,083 yards. “I had humongous holes.”

I’m going to miss Doug so so much… with another year to heal D.J. Harper will be a beast next year you can count on that!
Boise State football team wins academic award based on graduation rate
In May, Boise State was honored by the NCAA for ranking in the top 10 percent of the Football Bowl Subdivision for Academic Progress Rate. The football program has posted APRs of 1,000 (perfect) and 997 in the past two reporting years.

Boise State’s Petersen on potential move to Big East: ‘It seems to flip each week’
Petersen said the issue is complicated.
“I don’t think it’s easy. It’s not an easy issue and there’s a lot of little things that have to be worked out — and not just about football. It is a big issue to tackle,” Petersen said. “The nice thing is our president, our athletic director have been working really, really diligently with everybody involved to figure out what the best thing is for Boise State.”
On Nov. 3, the Idaho State Board of Education gave Boise State President Bob Kustra the authority to move the football program to the Big East. Kustra said at that time that he hoped to have a final decision in the next week or so. Kustra and Interim Athletic Director Curt Apsey have declined comment on expansion issues throughout the process.
