With the Bronco’s off this weekend leading up to the season ending game in Reno and TCU’s beat down on #16 Texas , we have 4 games of what could be very important games to the slim remaining chances at a BCS bowl, let’s review.
#14 Nebraska @ Iowa noon est. kick off on ABC. Now it might be easy to chalk this one away plus when it comes to the B1G there is always the default of Wisconsin beating whom every they meet in the B1G championship game giving us a free ride, but don’t count these Hawkeyes out though they got stomped by the meatchickens last week much of that had to do with an unveiling of a new O the meatchickens were forced to use.
The Hawkeyes did beat what looks to be the repeat champions of the MAC to open the season N. Illinois, downed Sparty in double OT and have been in every game they have lost this year but one right to the very end. It’s not a must lose for us and it’s not even certain the Cornhuskers would fall behind us with a loss but it would certainly go a long way if Iowa can pull off an upset to getting this weekend rolling Boise State’s way.
#18 Rutgers @ Pitt Noon est. ESPN2. Here is a game that can open the door wider and while Rutgers will be flying high coming into it with the announcement of moving into the B1G, Pitt is no team to over look.
While their record doesn’t show it this is a team loaded with talent if you don’t believe me just asks the folks over at Notre Dame where before touchdown Jesus it took them 3 over times to beat them. I wouldn’t read too much into the loss last week into UConn when it comes to this game. This for all intents and purposes is Pitt’s last chance to go out with a bang from the BE as they are moving to the ACC next year and you can be sure they will be looking to give Rutgers a major sting as they head out the door and put Rutgers BE Championship hopes in jeopardy. I look for Pitt with Mark Mays blessing to open the door by removing Major obstacle to Boise States BCS hopes and put a beat down on Rutgers.
#18 Meatchickens @ The Shoe noon est. ABC .Last year going against my better judgment and because of my hatred of OSU I found myself pulling for the meatchickens in the second half that will not be happening again! I cannot express with having two sons who live at the trove of Hooke how difficult it has been for me this year to watch games with them and attempt to be neutral. I’ll be frank I hate the meatchickens I only wish the worst possible endings for them in each and every game they play.
That all being said scUM has almost zero chance of beating a OSU team who has a chance to make a statement. The only thing that prevents me from saying the meatchickens have zero chance is the fact this is a B1G game after all using B1G officials and if there is one thing we all know about the B1G is it has nothing to do with who the best team is on the field as it does how much money can the B1G snake away from others so baring corrupt B1G officials making obviously horrible scUM favorable calls OSU should walk right through this meatchicken team. This game outcome is only important if Iowa happens to beat Nebraska, but we can always use some insurance!

#20 Louisville @ UConn noon est. ESPN3. UConn is having one of those wacky seasons where some weeks they look like a football team other weeks not so much. With the moves made by the B1G this week and all the talk about whom the ACC is going to pluck from the BE to replace Maryland a team UConn beat earlier this season. All the focus has been on either UConn or Louisville and who knows maybe the coach at UConn might try to use this game as a message to the ACC on why it should be them. To be honest I’m not just hopeful it will be them it only makes sense that it is as UConn is an Atlantic school and has longer and better Basketball ties with the teams no moving into the ACC. All that being said this game doesn’t have as much importance to Boise State BCS chances as both Louisville and Rutgers end the season against each other @ Rutgers making the Pitt win this week more important.
With TCU’s win over Texas and if these 4 games fall our way the door will not need to be kicked open as just a nice solid win in Reno would allow us to walk right into that #16 spot add in a win by Wisconsin in the B1G game would put Boise State not just ranked ahead of one BCS conference champion but two!
