The Oakland Raiders on Friday morning finalized their coaching staff for the 2013 season by hiring on former NFL defensive coordinator Bob Sanders as the linebackers coach.
The past four seasons Sanders spent time with the Buffalo Bills, coaching defensive linemen and linebackers. Previously he was the defensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers for three seasons.
At the end the regular season the Raiders fired several members of head coach Dennis Allen’s staff, including linebackers coach Johnny Holland.
Sanders will decide what direction the Raiders will go by considering a replacement at middle linebacker this off-season due to the complications Rolando McCain brought to the team in getting suspended for his demeanor to the organization. He also got arrested earlier in the month.
With lots of experience added to the coaching staff GM Reggie McKenzie and the Raiders organization expect good things come fall.
The rest of the coaches added earlier this month to head coaches Allen’s staff include the following:
Tony Sparano
Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Line
Greg Olson
Offensive Coordinator
Bobby April
Special Teams Coordinator
