Reports : Vikings WR Percy Harvin Traded To Seahawks, Good Fit?

Baltimore 350

As if the growing rivalry between the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers didn’t need any more fuel, the Minnesota Vikings will sent disgruntled–yet talented wide receiver Percy Harvin to the Seahawks in a trade.

The 49ers responded by acquiring Anquan Boldin from the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a sixth round pick.

As for the deal with Harvin, it is contingent on him passing a physical and signing a contract extension and it will cost the Vikings its 2013 first-round(25th overall), a seventh-round pick in 2013 and a mid-round pick in 2014.

Going forward, this deal is a huge win for the Seahawks, as the team adds another dimension with Harvin.

The offense is already potent featuring Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson, running back Marshawn Lynch and former Vikings teammate, wide receiver Sidney Rice.

Harvin will  inject some explosiveness into Seattle’s 27th ranked passing offense.

While San Francisco arguably won in the short-term with the sure handed Boldin, Seattle has the potential to be the bigger winners in the long-term if Harvin can stay healthy for Seattle he is more versatile.
