The Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday agreed to terms with former Oakland Raiders linebacker Ronaldo McClain. Just last week he got released and now has a new home.
Rolando McClain agreed in principle with Ravens, to be precise. He’ll make the deal final on Friday with a physical in Baltimore — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) April 10, 2013
In 2010 he got taken no.8 overall in the NFL draft and was a major contributor especially against the run for the Alabama Crimson Tide. That year he helped the Crimson Tide win the BCS Championship and during his junior season won the Butkus Award. For McClain the success at the college level never came while a member of the Raiders and had some issues off the field. His best season in is three-year NFL career came in 2011 when registering 99 tackles and five sacks. McClain now receives a second chance with the Super Bowl Champs and now is in a first class organization, with a general manager who understands today’s players. If he is to succeed at the NFL level the Ravens organization is where it will happen.
