News and Notes : Colts Comeback, Browns Interview McDaniels, Gasol To Cavs?

Luck Leads Epic Colts Comeback vs Chiefs – Down 31-10 at halftime, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck orchestrated the second-biggest comeback in NFL history in a wild 45-44 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Luck found Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton for a 64-yard touchdown pass to give Indianapolis the lead. Kansas City’s final drive would fall short when receiver Dwayne Bowe failed to stay in-bounds on an Alex Smith fourth-down pass to the Colts 19-yard line.

Browns Interview McDaniels, No To Sooners Stoops – With a first-round bye, Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels interviewed with the home-town Cleveland Browns, per media reports.  Perceived as the front-runner for the vacant Browns head coaching spot, Cleveland also denied any interest in interviewing Oklahoma’s Bob Stoops—a Youngstown, Ohio native—are rumored to be interested in talking to Vanderbilt’s James Franklin, Auburn’s Gus Malzahn and current Denver Broncos offensive coordinator, Adam Gase

Cleveland has already interviewed Seattle’s defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and Arizona’s defensive coordinator Todd Bowles.    

Gasol to Cavs? – Due to conflicting reports caused by an ESPN Los Angeles intern, Los Angeles Lakers center Pau Gasol being trading to the Cleveland Cavaliers for center Andrew Bynum are in limbo.  Both teams are still in talks of swapping centers before the Jan. 7 deadline. According to media reports, the Lakers are seeking either/or a young prospect and/or a first-round draft pick from Cleveland.  

Other News and Notes : Penn State to Interview Mike Munchak – After being fired by the Tennessee Titans, Mike Munchak is set to interview for the now-vacant Penn State head coach job, a former Penn State offensive lineman, Munchak will replace Bill O’Brien, who left for the Houston Texans. Ken Whisnehunt To Lions, Titans? According to media reports, San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator, Ken Whisenhunt has emerged as a leading candidate for the Detroit Lions. a former head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, Whisenhunt has also emerged—alongside Vanderbilt’s James Franklin as a leading candidate for both the Lions and Tennessee Titans head coaching jobs.  UCLA QB Brett Hundley to stay for Senior Season, after leading the Bruins to a 42-12 victory over Virginia Tech in the Hynduai Sun Bowl, UCLA redshirt sophomore quarterback Brett Hundley has decided to stay at UCLA, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. 

Hundley, currently projected as the No.5 quarterback in the 2014 NFL Draft, finished the season by throwing for 3,071 yards, 26 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Hundley also rushed for 748 yards and 11 touchdowns.
