Marvin Lewis says he misses Hue Jackson

Denver Broncos v Cincinnati Bengals

The hiring of Hue Jackson as head coach hasn’t worked out too well for the Browns so far.

It hasn’t really worked out for Marvin Lewis, either.

“I miss the hell out of him,” the Bengals coach told Cleveland.com.

The Browns (0-6) play at Cincinnati Sunday. The Bengals (2-4) are off to their worst start since 2010, the last year they didn’t make the playoffs. The Browns are off to their worst start since going 0-7 when the franchise returned to Cleveland in 1999.

The Bengals were seventh in the league last year in points per game with Jackson as offensive coordinator. This year, they’re 30th.

Lewis says he and Jackson still talk frequently.

“When my phone rings at 5 o’clock in the morning, I know it’s only one person,” he said.

They’re not talking this week, however, because of the whole playing-against-each-other thing.

Who knows? If Jackson gets a mulligan for this year and the Bengals don’t make the playoffs, Lewis and Jackson might be able to work together again.
