Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall says there’s no ‘ill will’ toward Brock Osweiler and that he’s happy he got his big payday, according to The Denver Channel.
“I am happy he got paid. But it’s competition. We want to kill him,” Marshall said.
So the Broncos have no bad feelings toward their former quarterback who signed with the Texans during the offseason, but at the same time they want to C-I-L-L him, as Eddie Murphy would say.
Makes sense.
The Broncos (4-2) host the Texans (4-2) in Week 7 on Monday Night Football. Osweiler started seven games for the Broncos last season, going 5-2 in those starts, but was benched in favor of Manning in Week 17. From there Manning led the Broncos to the championship.
Osweiler signed a four-year, $72 million contract to be the Texans’ starting quarterback. Even if his former teammates don’t literally want to kill him, they are trying to get into his head.
“We know that Brock likes to hold the ball so I feel that we can get a lot of good pressure on him,” Marshall said.
The Broncos lead the NFL with 21 sacks and are allowing the fewest passing yards per game (182.3) this season. So it could be a rough night for Osweiler, but it’s a safe bet that he’ll live.
