San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard is off to an epic start to the season and his play has caught the attention of Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins.
The Spurs roasted the Kings 102-94 Thursday night behind 30 points from Leonard, who through two games has announced his arrival as the next great NBA superstar.
After the game, Cousins hinted he’s seen some Kobe Bryant in Leonard’s play:

High praise indeed.
Warranted, too, as a note by the Spurs shows:

Leonard is a special talent, to say the least. If his early output is any sign, the Spurs aren’t going anywhere as title contenders despite the loss of Tim Duncan. The Spurs are Leonard’s team now, which has been a long time in the making.
While most pen the Golden State Warriors as the favorite in the Western Conference, it would be wise to keep what Cousins had to say about Leonard in mind.
