Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is unhappy with the league’s interpretation of an “unnatural act” for which he was penalized for in Thursday’s 132-127 loss to the Houston Rockets.
Green, who has been penalized before for his high kicks, struck Rockets guard James Harden in the face with his right foot on the way down while attempting a put-back layup. He was hit with a flagrant foul 1 and Houston was rewarded with two free throws in a pivotal moment of the game.

Speaking to reporters Saturday, Green criticized the league office for calling what he did an “unnatural act,” and suggested they go take a few more kinesiology classes.

Green also mentions Harden and how his layup motion is an example of an “unnatural act.”
“If you’re going to say it’s an unnatural act, no offense to James Harden, but I’ve never seen nobody up until really James start doing it in my life that shoot a layup like this under your arm,” Green said. “That’s really not a natural act either. It’s not a natural basketball play either.
“So, if you’re going to make a rule, make a rule. But if you’re going take unnatural acts out the game, then let’s lock in on all these unnatural acts and take them out the game if that’s what we’re going to do. I don’t know. Let them keep telling people how their body reacts, I guess. They need to go take a few more kinesiology classes though. Maybe they can take a tape in class, functional movement classes and let me know how the body works because clearly mine doesn’t work the right way.”
The fact of the matter is Green kicked Harden in the face. Whether it was an accident or not is still up for debate, but the league has to protect its players.
