Looks like Tony Sparano and the Dolphins will be interviewing our tight ends coach, John Garrett for their offensive coordinator spot. By all accounts, its clear that Dolphins owner wants more creative and aggressive style.

“I’ve told Tony that to me, I want an aggressive, creative [offense] not playing just to keep it close, where people really are a little more unpredictable,” Ross said in an interview with TheFinsiders.com, a website operated by the Dolphins, via Jeff Darlington of the Miami Herald. (Darlington also apparently works for TheFinsiders.com while also covering the Dolphins for the Herald, which technically means that he’s working for the team he’s covering. What could go wrong with that?)
Sparano is familiar with John Garrett, they were on the same offensive staff in Dallas in 2007 and Jeff Ireland is familiar with him as well obviously. Adding Garrett to their staff could be just what they need. If by chance Garrett gets the gig, one player I see being directly effected would be TE Martellus Bennett. Garrett has tried to form Bennett into a better player and the results have been minimal, either way I think he’s gone whether or not Garrett stays or not. John Phillips was well on his way in taking over as our #2TE until he was injured.
