For those curious, Eakin has never been suspended in his six seasons in the NHL per TSN. So we’re probably looking at 2-3 games here.
To piggy back on what Melissa talked about in her recap last night… while the Rangers did end up winning the game, the lack of response from the players on the ice was disappointing if not unsurprising. Do the Rangers need an enforcer type to police the ice? No. Having that happen is such a rare event in today’s NHL to begin with, it’s not worth wasting a roster spot for.
Apparently now there is the issue of whether or not goalie is fair game is now a thing and I’ll leave that discussion for another day. But the short answer: No.
