When the Rams selected running back Todd Gurley with the 10th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, it was mixed feelings for rams fans as they thought the Rams already had a solid running game with Tre Mason and Benny Cunningham.
Fast Forward to August 27th 2016, it may have been the best pick in the whole damn draft. After suffering a torn ACL in college on November 15, 2014, Gurley made a full recovery and began his NFL career in an explosive fashion. In only 13 games, Gurley rushed 229 times for 1,106 yards and 10 touchdowns.
In 2015, Gurley ranked fourth in total rushing yards and tied for 16th in touchdowns. Basically, the rookie proved that his knee was a non-issue, showing that he was ready to run wild at the NFL level. Gurley seems poised to take his game to another level in 2016, and he’s even lost 15 pounds this offseason.
Even with playing in only 13 games, Todd Gurley was the best running back in the league because of this reason. Stat is curiosity to Steve Palazzolo.
Todd Gurley averaged 7.5 Yds/Carry (270 Yds/36 Carries) in 2 WR, 1 RB, 2 TE personnel (NFL Rank: 1st of 51 Qualified RBs; League Avg: 3.9)

Todd Gurley was an absolute monster when it came to that package. 2 WR, 1 RB, 2 TE as shown above Gurley was the best in the league and by a mile. This is the normal running style package for any team in the NFL, and it proves Gurley knows the basics of running 101.
Gurley averaged 7.5 yards per carry, leagues average was a 3.9. Best back in the NFL? You know theres a reason why everybody is drafting him first in fantasy football….
