In the final installment of the free agent discussion, we’ll take a look at the three remaining offensive players from the Rams’ organization hitting the market this off season.
As stated in yesterday’s edition, this discussion is happening very early, which makes predictions difficult. There are many variables in play and only time will tell what each unique situation calls for.
CASE KEENUM – QB
Never the answer. Keenum was simply a band-aid to fill the role until Goff was ready.
He isn’t expected to resign, but even if he does, it will be for the role of the backup.
Before fans roll their eyes, take a moment to think of the bright side of having him as a plan B.
How many teams have never seen their backup outside of the preseason? Many head coaches have no idea what to expect of a guy who is thrown into the fire for the first time after an injury to their starter. At least we know what we are getting if Keenum goes under center.
He finished with 11 interceptions and nine touchdowns, but to be fair, he didn’t have much time in the pocket.
BRIAN QUICK – WR
If Kenny Britt stays, Quick is the third-best receiver on the roster, which is saying something.
The receivers had their struggles this season, but the Rams have some legit talent that will work well under a new offense.
If Britt leaves, then GM Les Snead shouldn’t think twice about resigning the 27-year old. He hauled in 41 receptions, averaging just over 13 yards per catch with three TD’s. He’s also be a great option to return kicks.
CHASE REYNOLDS – RB
Reynolds didn’t get much of a chance this season, but may not even make a return to the league.
He had one reception for four yards, which doesn’t give a 29-year old much to sell to potential bidders.
