Another of the Los Angeles Rams’ unspectacular wide receiver corps from 2016 has found a new home in hopes of turning around his fortunes.
Sixth-year WR Brian Quick signed with the Washington Redskins on Friday, according to NFL.com. Terms were not disclosed.
Quick, a 2010 second-round pick out of Appalachian State, had a career year for the Rams in 2016. He caught 51 passes for 564 yards and three TDs.
He joins Cleveland Browns free agent Terrelle Pryor as a set of bigger targets for Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins.
“Quick measures up at 6-foot-3 while Pryor stands at 6-foot-4, posing as much bigger targets along the outside compared to last season,” NFL.com reports.
The duo replace 6-foot Pierre Garcon and 5-10 DeSean Jackson. Not everyone lauded Washington for its exchange. CBSSports.com commented:
The Redskins lost their two starting wide receivers in free agency. Pierre Garcon, who signed with the 49ers, ranked 10th in total value among all wideouts last season, according to Football Outsiders. And DeSean Jackson, now with the Buccaneers, ranked 12th.
In their place, the Redskins have added quarterback-turned-receiver Terrelle Pryor and on Friday they signed Brian Quick, formerly of the Rams. Pryor ranked 50th in total value last season with the Browns and Quick ranked 79th.
So yeah.
Former Rams wideout Kenny Britt landed in Cleveland as a replacement for Pryor.
The Rams signed Buffalo Bills free agent Robert Woods to play alongside Tavon Austin in Los Angeles. The team also has young players Bradley Marquez, Mike Thomas and Pharoh Cooper on the depth chart heading into 2017.
