At this point, MLB teams should just intentionally walk Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton every time he comes to the plate, because he’s crushing everything.
Stanton is locked in and seeing the ball so well right now. There are times pitchers might strike him out on a particular pitch early in the game, and then he comes back later by crushing that exact same pitch out of the ballpark.
Stanton faced one the game’s best lefties in Madison Bumgarner on Tuesday night, riding a streak of five consecutive games with a home run.
And yeah, that streak is now continuing.
Bumgarner elected to throw him a breaking ball in the third inning of the game, and it hung a bit. Stanton is known to capitalize on mistakes, and sure enough, he did, hitting the ball 430 feet. It landed near that awful-looking home run sculpture thing.
