Early Celtics Matchups Oct/Nov 2015

Here are the games Celtics fans will be looking forward to seeing!

Wed Oct 28th vs Philadelphia- This is the first game of the 2015-16 season for the C’s!! Philly has new faces like they always do (Average age is very low 20’s). The Celtics need to obviously keep rookie Jahlil Okafor away from the hoop as much as they can as well as C Nerlens Noel who is coming off a terrific year. Shooting is the main Celtics priority in this game to find the rhythm and chemistry among each other. R.J. Hunter should be playing a good amount of minutes to get his deadly shooting stroke working and Marcus Smart doing what Marcus Smart does in every game, hustle.  Terry Rozier may see some minutes toward the end of the game. A revitalized Sixers team with Okafor/Noel could be trouble for the C’s on the rebounding end but overall the Celtics have the better all around talent and should win this one to start off the season on a good foot.

Sun Nov 1st vs San Antonio- The third game into the season and we are facing the team which is predicted to win the championship. LaMarcus Aldridge will be a new face of the Spurs for the Celtics to shut down. Popovich and company will recover from an away and home game to start a 3 game away trip starting in Beantown. Tim Duncan is no new foe for the C’s as he has stuck around the NBA for a long time and seems to never lose touch in his game. Parker and Ginobili also will be arriving to spark the offense like they have been doing for a long time. The Celtics will have to especially use their inside game with David Lee and Tyler Zeller and the other forwards. Jae Crowder vs. Kawhi Leonard will be a anticipated matchup between the two tweeners who are 6’6-6’7 and have a great all around game. This will be a tough matchup for the C’s and this will have the crowd fired up!

Sun Nov 15th @ OKC- A hard away trip is what the Celtics rookies need in order to up their game! OKC has one fan base you cant miss in the entire NBA. They are loud and all in sync. Meanwhile the team, Kevin Durant is coming off a foot injury which was a major setback for him and for new coach Billy Donovan who came over from the University Of Florida. Everyone knows that Russell Westbrook is a star point guard and among the elite players in the NBA. The Celtics will have a tough time guarding Westbrook along with Ibaka who has been a stellar blocking machine for the Thunder.

Mon Nov 16th @ Houston- JAMES HARDEN! JAMES HARDEN! That’s what the first thing you think of when the Houston Rockets are mentioned. Harden will be the key factor in this game since the Celtics are traveling down to Houston from Oklahoma City. This will give the Rockets a competitive edge since the Celtics already played a high caliber team the night before. Besides Harden, rookie Sam Dekker is a interesting player to watch out for if he gets playing time. Keep Dwight Howard off the boards but fouling him in critical situations may seem to be the better idea (Howard is a career 58% free throw shooter). Fellow rookie Montrezl Harrell gives Houston versatility and strength in the paint.
