K Ross Martin was the key ingredient for the Duke Blue Devils win against Boston College 9-7 today down in Durham, North Carolina. Martin, who is perfect on field goals this year, nailed 3 field goals which ended up being the number of points to win. Both defenses did extremely well in todays ACC matchup.
Boston College QB Troy Flutie went 5/8 on 129 yards passing and a TD to wide receiver Thadd Smith, who had 2 receptions for 99 yards and a score. Three different RB’s for BC had more than 10 carries which is rather unusual to see in a game (Rouse, Outlow, J.Smith). BC punted 8 times in the entire game which means that the 3rd down conversions didn’t go as expected and this was a back and forth game. Duke’s punter Will Monday punted 8 times as well with one of them being a touchback.
