After a tough loss vs Wake Forest, Boston College must redeem themselves but they must maintain good clock management and obviously score the ball. Clemson is ranked 5th in the nation and is on the rise. QB Deshaun Watson is a huge dual threat mismatch versus Boston College. Watson has so far completed 69%of his passes to go with 11 TD passes thrown and will continue to shine on the offensive side of the ball. Clemson RB Wayne Gallman is a vital part of the Tigers offense due to his production this season (860 rushing yards 5 TD’s). Clemson’s receiving core is very active in the red zone along with down field targets. BC needs to capitalize on how Clemson moves down the field along with stopping Gallman.
BC has some work to do but they have all the potential to stop Clemson in their tracks. Troy Flutie and Jeff Smith have to propel the offense and get down the field. WR Thadd Smith is one of the main targets for Flutie and Smith and should be able to get crucial first downs and hopefully touchdowns. Clemson is a tough test on defense but BC’s offensive line is a sturdy one that can shut out ranked teams as we saw with Florida State when they only scored 14 points. Boston College’s defense will also play a vital part in containing Clemson’s offensive plays. DB Justin Simmons must be active in the backfield to prepare for whatever Watson decides to do. DE Harold Landry penetrated Florida State’s offensive line and has all the potential to get to Watson. LB Steven Daniels is the heart and soul of the defense who can plug the middle and stop the running game. This is a must watch game for anyone interested in college football.
