The Rising Stars Challenge took place last night and our own Celtics G Marcus Smart scored 3 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished out 5 assists in the USA’s 157-154 defeat over Team World.
This proved to be a huge box score game with multiple players scoring 20+ points. For Team USA, D’Angelo Russell (22 points), Jordan Clarkson (25 points), Zach LaVine (30 points) all scored over 20 but LaVine was honored the MVP after some insane dunks and dropping 30. World’s big star was Knicks PF Kristaps Porzingis, who scored 30 as well but couldn’t secure the victory.
For the All Star Game this Sunday, the Celtics are looking forward to seeing Isaiah Thomas getting on the court for some minutes but its not all guaranteed. Thomas will come off as a reserve but we will see what they do to utilize Thomas.
