Hockey will return to Fenway Park in January as there will be two day of hockey a total of four outdoor hockey games.
The schedule is as follows: Saturday, January 7, 2017:
- Boston University vs. University of Massachusetts
- Boston College vs. Providence College
Saturday, January 14, 2017:
- University of Maine vs. University of Connecticut
- University of New Hampshire vs. Northeastern University
The game to watch out of is University of Maine vs. UConn in Saturday January 14th. Maine has a decent history when playing outdoors on Fenway as in 2014 they beat Boston University 7-3. The Black bear also beat UNH 2-1 in 2012.
After this year’s Frozen Fenway games all twelve Hockey East Schools will have played in an outdoor game at Fenway Park. Hockey East commissioner Joe Bertagna said “[this is] creating once-in- a-lifetime memories for the players, students, alumni and fans.”
