Patriots Squeak Out 22-17 Win Over Jets

NHL-2004-Lockout

What an interesting game today at MetLife Stadium as the Patriots squeak out a 22 to 17 victory over the division rival Jets. This is not a normal win for the Patriots as this was Brady’s 200th win as he now ties Payton Manning for the most wins of all time by a quarterback.

The time came where we thought all hope was lost the Patriots just failed a 2 point conversion and the Jets had the ball. But we can all thank Chris Long who had a textbook strip sack that the Patriots recovered.

It was just another one of those days for the Pats as it was a terrible first quarter, a slightly better second quarter and a decent second half. The one trending topic of this game was that the Patriots pass rush was nonexistent. The Patriots were giving Fitzpatrick all the time in the world to see the play and throw the ball.

It was not the best day for Brady even though he did go 30 for 50 with 386 yards and 2 touchdowns. Something just didn’t seem right with Brady. I definitely think he is hurt. You can tell because he is throwing off of his back foot way too much, it seems like he doesn’t want to throw off of his front foot at all.

Another storyline to follow is the one of Rob Gronkowski who went down early in this game and did not return with a back injury. The reports as of now are saying he will be fine and will not be missing any extra time. But I will believe it when I see it.

And now it is time for a weekly update on a story we have followed all year long about the Patriots kicking game. I wish I could tell you Gostkowski went perfect on all of his kicks but unfortunately I cannot as he missed another one today. Today Gostkowski missed a 39 yarder with no wind on turf. How much more confidence can the Patriots have with Gostkowski as their kicker going into the playoffs?

The Patriots will now be back at home next Sunday when the LA Rams come to town to take on Brady and the Patriots.
