Get ready because the big bad Bruins are back in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time in three long years! It was not an easy road to get here as it has been a long hard year filled with ups and downs and a new coach. But at the end of the day when it comes time to do the playoff role call, the Bruins will be there.
If the playoffs were to start today the Bruins would take on the Maple Leafs. But nothing is final yet as all this is due to change based on how the Bruins, Maple Leafs, Senators and Red Wings all finish their season.
This was all made possible by a great team effort 4-0 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. It took until the second period for the Bruins to find the scoreboard but Drew Stafford sniped a goal to put the Bruins up 1-0. But that is not all the noise they mad in the second as Pastrnak scored his first of two on the day.
Chara and Pastrnak’s second goal came in the third period to seal the deal!
But now we have to worry about the state of Brad Marchand and if he will be suspended and if he is how long. I would imagine the hearing would be tomorrow and we will be given an answer very quickly. I can’t see him missing a playoff game but definitely could see him missing the rest of the season.
The Bruins will next take on the Senators Thursday night before taking on the Capitals Saturday afternoon to finish out the season.
