With the evolution of NFL instant replay and the tireless effort to try and evaluate the game from different angles, the man who was in charge of enhancing the NFL officiating, known as Dean Blandino, has resigned from his current position, sources say.
Blandino has been tied with the Patriots numerous times with the Deflategate scandal (I will not put anyone through suffering with another Deflategate article) and has worked with the NFL’s officiating department for 15 years. A well-recognized colleague in the NFL organization and respected person, Blandino, according to sources, will pursue other opportunities.
With CBS Network not looking for an officiating analyst for breaking down calls as they happen, FOX Network reportedly swooped up Blandino to work side by side FOX analyst Mike Pereira.
It is reportedly unclear who will take over the void position, but reports will soon come into networks giving clues about potential candidates.
