Celtics Fall Flat

The Celtics fell once again to the Chicago Bulls last night, 111-97.

It was a tough loss for the C’s once again as the Bulls dominated for the entirety of the game. Boston was outscored in every quarter and could never put meaningful minutes together. After the tragic death of his sister, Isaiah Thomas once again led the Celtics in scoring, albeit only 20 points. It seems the pain Isaiah is suffering has spread throughout the team as well. Watching game 2, the general effort and intensity the Celtics usually have seems to be missing. Whether the Bulls surprised them or they have bigger things on their minds is yet to be seen.

On the other hand, the Bulls can flat out play. During the regular season, players like Rondo and Wade seemed like shadows of their former selves. Wade was dealing with injuries through a majority of the season, and there were stretches where Rondo wasn’t even playing. After game 2, playoff Rondo seems to be in full form. He finished one rebound shy of a triple-double and finished with 14 assists. With Isaiah Thomas guarding him for most of the game, it was easy for the bigger Rondo to take advantage.

The Celtics see themselves down 0-2 heading to Chicago. Isaiah Thomas will be heading home to Seattle to attend funeral services. With a game looming on Friday, we’ll wait and see if Isaiah will play and if he’ll be the same. Either way, tough times are ahead the boys in green.
