Jerry Jones discusses possible contract extension for Jason Garrett

NFL: Dallas Cowboys at Houston Texans

The Cowboys had a 4-5 record earlier in the season, and it was looking as if head coach Jason Garrett was on track to be fired.

But he and the team have reversed course in a big way.

Dallas has won six of its last seven games, and all of a sudden, Garrett looks to be in line for a potential contract extension. Garrett is wrapping up the five-year, $30 million contract he once signed, which runs through the 2019 season, so it’s possible that the team would want to prevent any uncertainty about his future with a new deal.

Team owner Jerry Jones made his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday, and he shed some light on the topic — -hinting that an extension is in the cards for Garrett.

The NFL is a results-driven business, and Garrett has his team playing confident, winning football. We expect the extension to come at some point before training camp opens in 2019.
