2011 Steelers Mock Draft Rundown

Every year, I write the same type of post saying that I’m not a big time draft expert and don’t even try to be one. Truth is, even the best experts have no clue what will happen Thursday night and the rest of the weekend. The real experts on talent evaluation and drafts are in the front offices of the 32 teams.

Still, it is fun to take a look at the predictions and every year I post a big list of all of the mock draft picks for the Steelers. For what it’s worth, a quick look at last year’s picks will tell you that this is far from scientific. Nobody had the Steelers drafting Maurkice Pouncey in any of the mocks I listed. But it is interesting for record keeping purposes.

This season, Texas cornerback Aaron Wiliams is by far and away the consensus pick for the Steelers. It is who I picked for the Steelers in Bloguin’s mock draft. Miami CB Brandon Harris and MSU Derek Sherrod are the other two popular choices.
