After Sunday night’s outstanding performance against Spain in a 3-0 win in the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup final, there is no reason to criticize Neymar.
Many critics said Brazilian striker Neymar has not played against top quality opponents, but against Spain, those people are now silent.
Nearing the end of the first half, Neymar made a run which ended up offside, then pulled his run back to get even with the Spanish defenders. Oscar then passed Neymar the ball who opened his body made a touch with his left foot then smashed the ball over the outstretched hands of Iker Casillias on a brillant strike.
This great showing of class and power is exactly why Neymar is considered one of the best in the world, and will be looked at as one of the elite soccer players of the future. Throughout the entirety of the game, Neymar made long defense cutting runs with and with out the ball.
His passes also left a very tired and weary Spanish defense confused and on their collective heels the majority of the game. Also, Neymar tracked back multiple times and made some great defensive tackles.
Overall, Neymar’s performance was brilliant and showed the world why he is ready to dominate at FC Barcelona.
