2013 NFL Free Agency : Steelers Match Patriots Offer Sheet For WR Emmanuel Sanders

After watching Mike Wallace take his talents to South Beach, the Pittsburgh Steelers were determined to not let restricted free agent wide out Emmanuel Sanders leave.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Steelers decided to match the New England Patriots one-year $2.5 million offer sheet for Sanders, thus keeping the former Southern Methodist standout in the Steel City—and franchise quarterback Ben Roethlisberger happy—rather than accept a third round pick—and see Sanders catch passes from Tom Brady and the hated Patriots.

Sanders, 26, caught 44 passes for 626 yards and one touchdown for the Steelers in 2012-13.

With Sanders back in the fold for 2013-14, can he step up and play like a No.2 opposite Antonio Brown now that Wallace is gone?
