New Orleans Saints

Traded for CB Eli Apple in exchange for 2019 4th Rd Pick, 2020 7th Rd Pick

The New Orleans Saints have had their eyes on some secondary help for quite a while now. For a second, it seemed like there was a realistic chance that they were going to land Arizona Cardinals star cornerback, Patrick Peterson. But the Cardinals had a tight lock on their leader.

So, the Saints settled for the next best thing on the market. The former first-round pick, Eli Apple. Last year, Apple was having a hard time in the Giants locker room, which made it feel like there was a realistic chance that he was going to be traded in 2017. The Giants held on, but it wouldn’t last.

New York is a dumpster fire. They had a fire sale, and Apple was the first of two to pack up and go. And just like that, Apple goes from one of the worst teams in the league to one of the best. The Saints lost Patrick Robinson to the season last month, but they didn’t hesitate to upgrade the position once again with Apple.
