Philadelphia Eagles

Traded for WR Golden Tate in exchange for 2019 3rd Rd Pick

Everybody expected the Philadelphia Eagles to go for a running back before the trade deadline. With Jay Ajayi out for the year, and Darren Sproles missing all but one game, they are barely a threat to any defenses in the run game, forcing them to look one-dimensional.

With Le’Veon Bell becoming untouchable, and LeSean McCoy’s price being too high, the Eagles decided to just add to the wide receiver position. It makes sense since, you know, they can barely run the ball. So, why not just add more weapons in the passing game since that’s all they do in the first place?

The unfortunate part of this deal is that Tate is 30-years-old on the final year of his contract. The Eagles might not get much out of Tate beyond 2019, but this was clearly a win-now decision by the Eagles front office. They needed a spark to the offense, and Tate offers that.
